![]() GCM can manage authentication on your behalf (no more manual PATs) including 2FA (two-factor auth). We recommend you either configure SSH or upgrade to the Git Credential Manager (GCM) instead. From this day forward, passwords will be added to that new keychain. Note: Updating credentials from the macOS Keychain only applies to users who manually configured a PAT using the osxkeychain helper that is built-in to macOS. As the text below this button indicates, this creates a new, empty keychain that can be opened with your current Admin password and saves a copy of your old keychain. Launch Keychain Access (found in the Utilities folder within the Applications folder), choose Preferences from the Keychain Access menu, and in the General tab click the Reset My Keychain button. Since you’ve lost or reset the user password, they are no longer in sync, and you’ll need to reset your default Keychain to get them in sync again. There is, but the following instructions may not provide the solution you’re looking for.
